How would you adapt this topic to share it with your peers or community? I could adapt my project in many ways to help my peers and community including; by using my new found skill of public speaking to tell people what I believe. For example I believe that animal abuse it wrong and there should be more punishment for it. Therefore I could go to a school and give a speech of how animal abuse is wrong and maybe persuade some of the kids not to do it and believe that it is wrong and needs to be stopped. By doing this I would help the community by trying to end animal abuse and saving some kids from getting in trouble with animal abuse. So far all I have done is practiced speaking and I have given some small speeches to my parents. I plan on doing a speech to my family and friends this weekend which will end my project, since I feel like I have achieved all my goals I have set out to achieve before this project. I think I can officially say I mastered the art of public speaking, if I do g

What could be combined with your project topic to improve (change) something in society? Since my project skill is public speaking, I could talk about something that matters in the society that I think needs to improve. For example, I could talk in front of a school or class about animal abuse and how it is not ok. I could try to persuade the kids at a young age to believe that animal abuse is not ok. With my new public speaking skills I really think I could change the world for the better and at the bare minimum persuade some people to believe in what i believe in from my new found skill.

What steps are needed for you to improve your knowledge on your topic? I need to do many things in able to get better including the main thing, practice. So far the only thing I have done for practice is speak in front of my family or just talk to myself. At some point I want to have the courage to go speak at a place with a nice of people, like a class or school. But before this I need to learn some tips on how to stay calm and relaxed so I can speak well in front of other people. I can improve my knowledge more by watching my mom give a speech, once I see her do it I can pick up some rituals or techniques to be able to use in my speech, then once I feel comfortable and confident I can try and once I try she can tell me what I could do better. Then I could work on that and try it again until I do it perfect. Once I do this I feel like I will be confident enough to speak in front of many people.

What questions will you ask your mentor in an interview? I will ask my mentor questions that are going to be able to get me better at what a my goal for this project is, which is to get better at public speaking. I will ask questions like; What are some things you do before a speech to get ready? What do you do to stay calm in a speech? What are some techniques to be able to persuade somebody to buy a product? Is there any tips, in general, that could help me get better at public speaking?

How would you apply what you learned to develop skills in other areas? I could apply this to many things including my degree I plan to major in business. In the business that I plan on majoring I got to give many speeches and learn how to relax myself before the speech so I can give a good speech. Also at some point I want to learn some techniques to be able to persuade people to buy a product. My mentor does this for a job so I think she could show me this and could use this in my future job.
